Because this video would have been well over 10 minutes in length, I split it into two pieces with just enough overlap so viewers will be able to see that it's from a continuous source.

BACKGROUND:
On May 28, 2010, the shooting murder of gangster Weng Chi-nan (翁奇楠) took place in broad daylight in Taichung City in the presence of at least four police officers (two senior) and one retired cop. During the shooting, the police did nothing to stop the crime, and afterwards, they all ran away. Later, they claimed they didn't know the gangster whose business they were visiting.

Lie after lie has been revealed, but as a result of leaks, some of the truth is slowly being revealed.

Eleven days later, police still hadn't released interior surveillance video of the crime in progress, so it shouldn't be surprising that the culprit hasn't been caught yet.

Déjà vu:
Another shooting murder where a police officer was present took place last year in Taichung. Gangster Lin Yi-hung (林亦宏) was murdered at his home on October 17, 2009
about six minutes after Tainan Prison Chief Guard Hsieh Shih-lun (解世倫) arrived at his home.

The existence of surveillance video had been denied by officials in that case as well (meaning that the images of the suspects contained within weren't shown to the public), and the fact that a cop was there wasn't known to the general public either until June 8, 2010 when DPP legislator Chiu Yi-ying (邱議瑩) was given a leaked copy of that surveillance video made the information public at a press conference.

The same night, the chief of police at Taichung's 6th precinct (name: Lin Wen-ruei [林文瑞]) called in to Talking Show (大話新聞) to "clarify" (i.e., to make all kinds of excuses about) the 2009 shooting, but his "answers" only leave viewers with more questions that need to be asked, not the least of which is: "Do the police want to catch the murderers at all, or are they trying to help them get away?"

  • sometimes I worry about my inlaws in Taichung, the gangsters have free-riegn. No one seems to be willing to do anything. Maybe it does take and iron fist and a bullet to control society, but only the Cops and the gangsters have the guns......
