I have worked on small gas and diesel engines out of necessity for years. Its either that or take it to the shop. For instance the Wisconsin engine shop wanted 90 dollars an hour to work this little engine with a 2 hour minimum plus parts. I was able to diagnose and fix the problem in about an hour and a half.

  • If the valve really stuck you might have to tap on it lightly with a wooden mallet..

  • Yes you can disassemble the head with the plug still in, however, be careful not to damage the plug when you set the head to the side including smashing the plug and closing the gap..

  • The valve was stuck in the guide it had rusted in place from non use.. Just take the head off and work the engine back and forth while squirting engine oil around the open valve and through the guide..

  • Pretty good guess considering you can’t see the front. 29 Chevy kind of a specialty car with landau bars she only has about 3000 miles on her. The restore was started and never completed..

The mixer in fact has a belt tighten clutch using the weight of the engine for tension.
