BLM Lauterbrunnen - Murren Mountain Railway part 2

This time I was travelling in an opposite direction: from Murren to Lauterbrunnen via Grutschalp. Weather was great. The funicular in the movie no longer exists - has been replaced with a cable car only recently.

In which year the funicular was replaced by cable car? I didn't know it. What a pity! :(

Think that I was there in 1988 and did not appear that there was an intention to replace the funicular with a cable car. Why this? We know that in Switzerland the railways have always been preserved, strange this reversal, at least here. A greeting and thanks for the reply very fast. Gian ;-)

The ground under the tracks wasn't stable anymore and the ride became dangerous. Then came the capacity - new cable car runs twice as much faster and takes more passangers

@BartLCY10 I understand. Thanks for the fast reply. I am a railway fan and I'm non happy when a railway (a funicular too) is closed for another movement vehicle (cable car too). Pity. Thanks anyway. Hello Gian ;-)
