After being involved in a car accident in 2006, DCI Sam Tyler (John Simm) wakes up to find himself in 1973, the era of 'Sweeney' type policing, Mark III Cortinas, and flared trousers. The original UK series was the basis for ABC's "Life on Mars." The UK series is available for Pre-order at http://www.Amazon.com and will be available everywhere 7/28.

  • @juliusyeung0330 UK is both the original and the best one. (And this is coming from someone who's from the US.) I consider it my favorite show of the last decade.

  • @juliusyeung0330 The UK version is a copious amount better. :)

  • @SuperRichi1A It's his own accent. He uses it in everything, it's his accent.

  • The one thing that annoyed me about this series... Sam's voice, or rather, the voice the producers probbably had Simm put on. I dunno what they were aiming for, probably a northern accent, but, well, it's the one thing that lets Simm down. The accent is so obviously fake, and it has the knock-on of making Simm's voice change pitch and tone drastically scene to scene. Simm's real voice would have been just fine, it's just this one aspect that lets him down :(

  • Oh bloody hell, Nigel!

  • And the weird thing is, just after 5 years everything already looks so outdated, the cellphone, the IPod, no flat screen computers...

  • @HamburgerJameson That is exactly what I did!

  • @TotallyAwesomeTimes7 True, only hit the US version once you have gone through the UK version and are really hurting.

  • @juliusyeung0330 @johannamm21287 I totally agree with johannamm21287. The UK original is the best. Been a fan of Life on Mars since it first aired on BBC America. (After watching the pilot, I preordered the region 2 version of the series because I couldn't wait for the entire series to air--the release date of the DVD, with mailing time included, beat out the airing of the last few episodes). Btw, I also purchased the region 1 format DVD. Yes, the series is that good.

  • @johannamm21287

I'm gonna check both versions out.

    my favourite show is ROME
