ABC News Radio's Andrea Dresdale caught up with legendary guitarist Joe Satriani to chat about his involvement with the 2010 Experience Hendrix Tour.
As he developed as an artist, Satriani notes that Hendrix was a hero to him and influenced his style of playing.

Satriani also comments on what is next for Chickenfoot and his new live CD-DVD entitled "I Just Wanna Rock," which was recorded back in May of 2008 in Paris.

  • As you guys already and aptly said, he is humble and I would take it one step further to say that he embodies the classical Greek, TRUE version of the word 'meek.' That being a guy that could B-L-O-W--A-W-A-Y anybody else with his combined chops and musiciality and yet speaks like HE's lucky we're listening to him. That's true Bridled-Strength in my book and he has earned our admiration as a musician and as a human being.

  • i fucking love joe man, he's not a cocky guy with the rock star attitude, playing the "im famous, youre not, gtfo and fuck you too for the way back home", he's more like low profile, he's fucking God for me! you fucking rock Satch! and btw: he's going to play my favourite hendrix's song (all along the watch tower) with one of my favourite bands, can this be any more perfect?

  • he looks high as fuck

  • Joe's an extremely bright and approachable guy, one day him, JP, Vai, Gilbert, and Tony MacAlpine need to get together and have a roundtable discussion on guitar and guitar theory.

  • Joe, please don't forget us here in England. We have a general election in May and the result is gonna suck whatever, we could really do with a tour, even if there's no new album.

    Please.

  • Joe, I hope you're reading all the comments here. I love your playing and everything you did in your career. Congratulations on your success in Chickenfoot. But I have one request from you as like all other Guitar and Music Fans across the globe will be asking - WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO PUT ANOTHER G3 TOUR? I miss G3 just like every other fan out there. Please do another G3 tour!

  • @misko1961 Great I didn't see it. I'm not bashing Joe because he has written 5 or 6 of the greatest guitar instrumental records ever but I saw him play in my home town and it was boring. His musicians are boring his stage presence is boring it's almost like he's turned into Yanni. I like Yanni but it's not Rock and Roll. There's so sex, love, passion, fire in his music anymore.

  • @giuseppemare they did play red house on the first g3 tour

  • I wish Joe would have played some Hendrix as the encore with G3 and his solo tour. The encores on those tours were lifeless. Joe's hasn't made any good music in a long time I hope this inspires him to work with some different musicians. Stu and John are boring.

  • Joe is the man! I bought the live in paris dvd the music rocks, but the footage has way too many effects it slike u have to be all high to appreciate the far out graphics. the music kicks butt

  • I had the pleasure of seeing the second show last night at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City w/ my dad. Great show! Joe blew my mind away.

  • I saw the 1st show last nite in Santa Barbara---Killer Guitar Show!!!!!!!!!!!
