John Lennon was just being a brat and getting high on his fame. Apparently he pissed off the wrong people. No one would've made such a big deal about it had he said something about Allah and it pissed off the people of Saudi Arabia or something. He also stated that show business was "an extension of the Jewish religion." No one likes to remember that. Many Jews were hurt by this comment too.
