  • Good God! I hate when they try to restage these operas in our mundane contemporary times (a practice mostly fashionable in Europe, ironically.) How bland, a Knight of the Grail reduced to being someone who works in a cubicle! I am certain traditional mountings of this opera have not been exhausted. I get enough "relevance" in the news, thank you.

  • I saw her sing this role in 2000. Emotionally riveting, even though the wobble was almost comical.

You should hear her 1985 broadcast. It's unbelievable! Her Act II aria is just phenomenal! Few singers can be this electrifying!

This baritone is wonderful. Telramund is a ridiculously difficult, ungrateful and unsympathetic role to sing. Good for him!

  • 1994 Turandot at San Fran. Opera--she was surely the best Princess T. ever.

  • I heard her Ortrud on Opening Night of the Met in 1984. Her singing of the curse in Act II had to be heard to be believed! Truly one of the most astounding things I have ever experienced in 43 years of opera-going. My God!!!

  • Strange that despite the modern trappings the acting remains just geberic wagner so thst one cannut really pickup on what the scene means. The best version of making updated wagner organic to the stage behaviour still must be the chereau ring

  • It's great muscial theater even without the voice. Don't like the staging though. What's with the stupid video in the background?

  • Eva is indeed a jewel. and singers of her metttle should be viewed upon as people with deep insight and knowledge and great acting ability. Her voice is indeed suited to the manical Ortrud.

  • FRANZHUN WE WANT THE CONTINUE

  • WHERE IS THE NEXT?

  • She reminds me of another Hungarian, Anny Konetzni.
