Amid a month-long uptick in violence in Iraq, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden landed in Baghdad [Thursday, July 2nd] on an unannounced visit, his first since taking office. With U.S. troops now out of Iraqi cities, Mr. Biden is meeting with U.S. and Iraqi officials. His two-day stop will be the most extensive to the country by a U.S. president or vice president since the war began six years ago. VOA's Chris Simkins has more on the story.
