The Spicer Life is a series of comic monologues starring James Cotter as the prickly pompous young upstart Jeremy Spicer. The first series of six episodes aired on the Devon based radio station Soundart Radio 102.5 FM through July and August 2011.
Jeremy Spicer feels he can be broadcasting at the highest level but unfortunately his lack of experience and pomposity mar any chances he has at making it at the top. He's stuck in the graveyard slot on his local university radio station, shunned by fellow students due to his overbearing personality and beaten at every turn by the better looking, better educated and better connected Giles Dervish. Jeremy has one year left of his degree and knows unlike Giles he can't just walk into a job at the BBC and contacts every well know TV and radio personality begging for a chance to be heard on the elusive radio airwaves. During his final year he's blissfully unaware that a fellow student who he greatly admires lusts after him, a neurotic agent actually meant for Giles ends up accidentally taking on Jeremy on her books, his well meaning but highly embarrassing uncle turns up to the university unannounced and Jeremy gets enough chance working at the BBC but will all go as planned?
Christmas Special - The Gift: Jeremy finds himself snowed in at Anthony's shop and is forced to hold an actual conversation with him where some interesting facts emerge.
