Chinese Harass U.S. Navy Ship

Two unidentified Chinese ships came dangerously close to an unarmed U.S. Navy ship in international waters last week, forcing it to take defensive maneuvers. This is the fifth case where Chinese ships have harassed U.S. naval vessels in the past two months. The USNS Victorious was conducting routine undersea listening operations, when it was approached repeatedly by two Chinese fishing ships. U.S. officials say that the Chinese ships came as close as 30 yards, once forcing the Victorious to come to a dangerous sudden stop. This is the latest incident in what appears to be a pattern of intentional harassment. The Chinese regime has in the past accused the U.S. of using U.S. ships to conduct illegal spying operations, a charge the U.S. government denies.
