Another effect DA did well are the irradiated skies which I remember are in a lot of the movie and difficult to acomplish back then.

Terrible film, but nice review, Sean, as always.
As intrigued as you were with the Landmaster, when the movie came out, I bought the book and read it, but, ironically, I didn't see the film until it played on TV years later! Like Roger Zelazny himself, I hated the film when I saw it! I would rather have watched an episode of ARK II!
Maybe, instead of producing yet another disappointing remake of a classic, Hollywood will revisit DAMNATION ALLEY and give us a film worthy of the book.

@SpaceOdyssey56 When the movie came out, I was 9...so I didn't have a lot of options with disposable income. But I'd be interested in reading the book now. Thanks for the compliment!
