What in the world is wrong with people? Can't you listen? Where in the video does it state the boat is stock? The engines are stock, however the pulleys have been changed and the limiters are at 5800, NOT 6000. If you know anything about analog guages, they are never right. The SMARTCRAFT on one engine was 5780 and the other was 5760 NOT 6000. The boat ran 121 with the stock pulleys and 5800 limiters but it took MILES to get there. So many negative quotes from people that are ?????????
Port motor will always be a little higher rpm !!I'm sure he tweaked the motors but those speeds are real Fountain has 1 of the fastest V-hulls out there if not the fastest!I have 450 hp a side and do 80+ not that many hulls get that out of 900hp twin screw set up!
I personally ran a 42 Lighting with 700 #6's we ran a solid 105 mph with 4 people and full of fuel all day in the Atlantic. I think fountain may be moving the rev limiter but that doesn't stop any other builder from doing it. BTW their was a 43 SUnsation with 700/nxt and we smoked him, it wasn't even close, I actually felt kind of bad for a second.
I have a number of friends that run 700's here at Lake Ozarks. Not one of them turn 6 g's. The 38 Lighting is great runner. Only questioning the rpm's.
Great Boat, thanks for sharing it with us. That is very impresive speed. What is wrong with all these other people posting there negative comments ? I think they are Fountain envy.
I looked for there videos and it appears they don't even own a boat.
I have 700 and nxts 38 zr boat runs 103 on a good day at 5400 and change.Thats bs Reggie dose not like nxts he uses #6s .Its bull shit 111 tops stock.
Fountain 38 114.9mph @ 5400 rpm 16-7/8X39 props with No. 6 drives mated to NXT transom assemblies. This boat was tested by Powerboat Magazine, trust that Fountain had it running as well as possible. The No. 6 drives were no cheap option, but option pricing did not show their cost. No other boat tested with 700's ran over 5450 rpm (it was a Sunsation F-4 99.7mph) We all know weather, water conditions and numerous other variables play into things but I call NO JOY on this
