  • you would have to be a fool to believe mayor FENTY

  • the whole point of "mixed-income" is NOT have a lot of low income people, so how can he promise that all residents will return? poor folks don't have much of a say and can be promised anything, only to have that promise broken later.

with the economic downturn theyll decrease the number of affordable units with more market rate units to rich newcomers.barry farms/park chester is located right near the metro in a prime area, just like sursum corda and Park Morton in NW, its no coincidence.

  • im sorry but Fenty is full of sh*t.

he knows darn well most residents are not going to return. You cant have 1000 public housing units in a mixed-income neighborhood and expect it to thrive. Basicallly everywhere else in the city or country for that matter they have torn down projects, most residents do not return, why would this be different? It'll take several years to complete the project, in the meantime, most old residents will be scattered all over the place.
