A bicycle ride to LeRoy Island on Great Sodus Bay on 27 April 2009, capped off with a beautiful sunset view overlooking Sodus Point and Lake Ontario. During the 2008-09 "off-season", a new wooden bridge was built connecting the mainland of the Town of Huron to LeRoy Island--the only one out of the three islands on Sodus Bay that can be reached by automobile or on foot. We rode across this new bridge, which is much more bike-friendly than its predecessor. The old bridge was of metal construction and was a bumpy bike ride across the steel grate decking (the type you can look down upon and see the water flowing beneath you). On our ride we were greeted by the sounds and sights of Nature (red-wing blackbirds, cottontail rabbits) as well as Man (fishermen, boaters). Nature finally trumped, showcasing a pink and orange sunset. Each Spring the sun continues to set further northward over Lake Ontario until June, when it begins to retreat in the other direction.
Seth thanks for a great quality video- Simply beautiful! Love the sound of the Redwing blackbirds. Waynecountylife was a great link too. thanks, best wishes, Tim
