Saturday's sixth tethered flight, the third attempt to take off from and land on the ground, shown at 1/10th speed. Video shot using Masten Space Systems equipment.

The rocket vehicle is by the Paul Breeds of Unreasonable Rocket, and is hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by sodium permanganate, which makes the purple color. The peroxide is throttled, the permanganate is not, which is why the exhaust gets more and less purple.

This flight shows the initial permanganate-rich startup (The Purple Menace) particularly well after they tested the permanganate system. It also shows the plume darkening as the engine throttles down right after the vehicle goes out of frame.

This test took place at FAR.
