Rajput were cavalry-based. Don't whine about roman scutum, since the rajput mount was not taken into account either.

Dolabra wasn't used for fight...

the aara only causes fatigue to people who dont know how to use it that well
trust me i seen it in person and hoping one day my teacher teaches me how to use it
its very effective actually and the one they used was dull
its supposed to sharper than that
and you right it is all slashing but nobody will dare to come near you when you using the aara really fast and when it is really long
im not rajput by the way im a Sikh-masters of Shaster Vidiya

@Tripyourift2 1 thing that you're not considering is budget. They must supply the gel torsos, equipment, armour, and weapons. They can only afford to spend so and so much. Plus the producers together with the experts pick the weapons to attempt to "even out" the warriors. Also you forget that the Rajput were martial arts masters and could make quick work out of someone even as trained as a centurion. Oh and the last thing... The experts that go on the show know more about the warriors than you..

THAT AARA IS AN AMAZING PIECE OF SHIT!!!

The aara was not too impressive to me. The scutum is generally above neck-height. At least the scorpion is lethal from a distance, and accurate from at least 25 feet away.
The main reason I think a rajput would win- not the Rajput portrayed in DW, but a Rajput- is because the Roman would have pretty much only used his Gladius, which isn't that great against mail. On the other hand, the Khanda made short work of mailed muslim invaders.
my biggest beef with this piece of SHIT episode was the total neglect of the Roman Scutum... The Scutum was the LIFE of a Roman Legionare, no Roman soldier would go into battle, whether it was fucking army vs. army or 1 vs. 1 without his fucking shield and as such, the fucking shield should have been taken into fucking account.

@Tripyourift2 I agree. They should've switched out the Pilum for the Scutum. They did something like that for the Viking and Spartan, why not here?

@kaizerx10 I actually think they should have switched out the scorpion for the scutum. The Pilum was actually used in combat by the Roman infantry and it served many purposes. Also, the dolabra was Legionare's a tool for menial labour, why they had a CENTURION using one in battle is beyond me. IMO if they were going for historical accuracy and therefore a more legitimate test, it should have been: Gladius, Scutum, Pugio, Pilum

@Tripyourift2 Yeah you're right, I bet the Pilum is far more effective as a long-ranged weapon than the Scorpion in a 1v1.
