@ChanceStearns I ran out of characters in the post below, but play your guitar with you fingers like a bass, (here is the part I couldnt add) but play softly and learn how to not bump or distort the octave filter. Otherwise you will get funky off key notes that sound like aliens are dropping in notes out of no where. Rock on and message me some links to your songs! Im on reverbnation to. Fan me I will fan ya back.

Try this, first make sure you have a Bass Amp rig selected. Then Plug your axe into the norm input, not pad. Then start with -Octave 1 to 50% -Octave 2 to 0% and Mix to right around 70%. Now if you attack the strings real hard it might not sound so well. Use your fingers and play your guitar like a bass, mess with the settings and amp selection till it sounds right. It still isnt a real bass, but it will get you by. On Riffworld com I have a few songs with the bass done using this technique.

I would suggest a shure 58 to start out with. Then later get a condenser mic. And, as for cost, around $100 for a good intro mic. You can get a cheaper mic but that will produce cheaper results. I recently bought a condenser mic. The process I used for picking it was first decide what I was going to spend, then go to musiciansfriend, zsounds, amazon and read tons of reviews to get a better idea and narrow down the search. Last, I searched for the mic on youtube to hear what others did with it.
