You most definitely miss the point. In 2004, Kerry never tried to claim he was "a man of the people," given that his fortune from his wife was extraordinary. Ross Perot, too, who was poor as a child, is a very, very rich man, but he never went around claiming the opponent was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He played the card, and it makes this is issue. Why not just say "I am living the American Dream, and so can you."

Look, I love Ron Paul as much as the next guy, but let's stop this bullshit that being rich or poor is a choice. In many cases, yes, people have the choice to pursue greener economic pastures or stay where they're at financially. However, unless you've grown up in a housing project, without a family, surrounded by gangs and drugs, with people pointing guns in your face telling you to join they're gang or die, you really shouldn't go around telling everyone that economic prosperity is a choice.
