It's what happens. We use the alarm item to get into a battle with the Pink Puff's. If you manage to defeat them all in the battle there's a chance they'll drop a "Pink Tail". Take this back to the guy who makes Adamant Items, for some armor.

@Mamoribito1 It's a mistranslation of "Ahriman". He's playing the fan-translated SNES version of FFIV by J2e, who I guess used the same incorrect romanization of "Allemagne" that Square used for the same enemy in FFVII. I think it's corrected in every other version, but it's still kinda funny.

@NeverEnoughCoal And that is my very, very, VERY long-winded explanation of the pink tail/adamant armor process. So, to answer your original question: It is entirely up to you. Many FFIV players strive for this legendary armor, but it takes much preparation and patience. If you think you are up to the challenge, the reward is greatly worth all the time put into it, but if not, don't worry about it. Most people give up quickly if their heart's not into it...(sorry for so many posts btw :P)
