Noel Nouvelet

Originally a lively folk-dance, this wonderful old carol is still a seasonal standard in French-speaking areas of the world.

Our version was translated from Old French in the early 1700s. The original is at least 500 years old (probably much older).

Logan plays the Tenor Ukulele, Faith plays the Pennywhistle and sings the verse, and Bill plays the Dombra and joins Faith on the refrain.

Note: a Dombra is an ancient two-string bowl-backed lute found in western Asia and the Middle-East. It is very likely that this was a common instrument in Israel when Christ was alive. The Dombra played here was hand-made in Kazakhstan by a traditional luthier.
