I've recently decided to release some of my unfinished work that otherwise would never see release. Some of it is incomplete, or purely conceptual and a great deal of it is very unpolished. I likely will never pursue any of these fragments to completion, but I thought it would be fun to share some of the things that I've worked on in the past, that, for one reason or another, got left behind.
And all that could have been. . . "The Craig Show."
My mom is a high school teacher who sometimes has to work long hours past the end of her last class to help students out, etc. I used to go to the same high school she taught at so we'd often carpool. One time I found myself with about 3 or 4 hours after school with no homework and a huge stack of paper. I thought it'd be fun to try my hand at stop-motion and make a short little movie. I initially had a concept where this simple stop-motion character (Craig) would talk about current events in the film / machinima community and so-on. I have a deep respect for such filmmakers as Stan Brakhage and others who literally scratch images into the film stock to create new and unique images. Stop-motion is very time consuming, but can be very rewarding. I doubt this will be the end of my stop-motion work, but after finishing this short little video I think it's safe to say that I'll be done with it for a while.
Hah, cool!
