Did you know what the milk you are carrying is used for?

The most important aspect of fulfilling a vow is delivering the milk or honey. Milk, honey and coconuts are part and parcel of Thaipusam. Fulfilling a vow by simply carrying a container of milk or honey is enough if done correctly. But some feels due to the gravity of their prayers, they had to include carrying of kavadis.
No longer is the kavadi made of heavy metal frame but light thin iron frames. Decorated with colorful gripe paper and plenty of styrofoam. But as one walks up the Waterfall Temple in Penang, the sight of Lord Muruga being showered and bath by the milk you are bringing spurs the devotees to walk faster to deliver more milk. Such is the greatness and encouragement the Lord gives.
