A British court has ordered a Russian state TV channel to pay exiled Russian tycoon Boris Berezovsky two hundred and twenty five thousand dollars. Berezovsky filed the lawsuit after a 2007 report claimed he was involved in the poisoning of the former KGB agent. But the company claims the trial was unfair and violated international conventions of freedom of speech. RT's Laura Emmett is LIVE in London to give us the details.

Russia Claims!? Russia claims alot of things, and taking a lesson from history we see she falls short of getting what she's after

Russia love to play the freedomOS card when it suits them, Wouldnt apply to the GROSS number of breaches it does itself

    trash

  • this is not about the pianist boris berezovsky, i guess? otherwise they would've mentioned that, he is very famous.

  • nothing bad will ever happen to berezovsky. he works in the interests of the west and they cuddle him for it. pointless discussion, move along.

  • haha the New Soviets have to cough up $225,000, welcome to justice!

  • Sheltering the SOB in UK is a clear proof on how evil UK is. He is wanted by the interpol why dont they extradite him first to Russia, the UK and EU(NATO) and their JWC are all poised and foccused to manipulate and grab Russia

  • Berezovsky 1, Pootie Poot 0.

  • It's been a good week for ElDorado Island courts.

Bail for a Bosnian Turk (war) criminal, and an absurd libel ruling on behalf of a thug and thief.

One can't help but suggest both rulings are ElDorado's way of thanking Russia for helping out to relieve gas shortages when worthless North Sea pipelines froze up a few weeks ago. Typical Eldorado.

  • There's plenty to be gained. If there wasn't, then Washington/London/NY wouldn't seek with such effort & capital to extend dollar hegemony at any/all costs, including those of replete state collapse.

  • That's what they say as a way to string the North African autocrats along, so that the North Africans hold out on offers of Russia and China, and the price of oil on the futures' market gets set to a value which better suits the other firms. There is nothing to be gained for Russia and/or China competing to be holders of the fool's gold, of the world's reserve fiat currency.

  • You're not thinking, charlessmyth. Russia & China are *joined at the hip*, geo-strategically, and are collaborating heavily in propping an alternative to the petro-dollar standard. As for Libya, again, tell that to ConocoPhillips, Oxy, Shell, Amerada Hess and other firms still salivating over North African fields.
