  • Why does that car have a spot for 2 rear plates????

I take it that isn't the bumper it came with?

  • its got a 79 bumper and a 79 nose.

  • @NiteLife76 Most likely because it was wrecked in the past. It has 78 Tail lights and 79 bumber.

  • @DXMotoring you should really put a 78 nose on this car. the 79 - 81 nose pieces looked like crap. and get the correct rear bumper. other than that great car!!

  • @NiteLife76 because it has a 78 rear with a 79 bumper.

I like the solid blacked out look of the 79 rear end and the nose of the 78 so i put it on my car. It doesn't matter what you do to it as long as you like it. you probably drive a nissan or something. get off his case.

  • Even though the rear bumper isn't original it still looks pretty good.

  • @wfo76 Either way, I love this guy's set up. The car looks great. I always liked the light cover "louvers" on the 78 better than the 79.

And furthermore, this car does indeed sound great!

Sorry for the three posts here (dang character count limit)!

  • @wfo76 I still do believe the lights and bumper are not stock because Pontiac always blacked out the rear tail lights on the Trans Am while leaving the Firebird edition's rear lights with the more obvious red and white lens (again, see the video on the right, and scope the internet for more stock models). That would make this car a Firebird (if the lights were stock), but it carries the T/A markings. I have owned a few T/A's of various years, otherwise, I would never have picked up on that.

  • @wfo76 Two posts here...sorry. That may be the case, but then I can't explain this car. That is not a full '79 bumper (lacks the license plate light outlets, which recess farther in on the flat area in the center under the license plate on this car. If you look to the right, the video "1978 TRANS-AM RUNNING" shows the exact match 1977-78 edition Firebird and T/A bumper. I believe this one was altered, but another poster said it was not. Who knows?
