Hesperia Police Department: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Project

http://www.lpainc.com Join us for a look at the new Hesperia Police Department, made possible. The 42,887-square-foot, two-story facility houses an Emergency Operating Center, patrol, investigation services, evidence storage and handling, and secured parking for 285 staff and department vehicles. The first LEED certified building in the City of Hesperia, the police department is a model of green building design for the entire community. The project has participated in Savings by Design, beating Title 24 by 17.8 percent. The recipient of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds (ARRA) under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program for a large array of photovoltaic panels on the roof and in the parking lot.

Wow, they were long overdue! but it was worth the wait and now they have a sustainable, functional space. Great design and great construction- it's beautiful! And the cake- I'd rather eat cake than cut a ribbon :) great idea
