Jimmy was so cool, he had no notion he was cool at all...He was just Jimmy. Wrote the best blues songs and played like everything was in slow motion. Forgot his own lyrics, was happily drunk on stage half the time but still one of the best. But NOBODY writes them like him.

Man this is real blues, and as "Bleedn' Gums" said, "Singin' the blues ain't about makin' you feel better, it's about makin' everybody else feel as bad as you do."

Feelin' bad in Houston. R.I.P. Jimmy

One of Jimmy's best! Don't forget the great Eddie Taylor, Jimmy's guitar mentor who tried, along with Mama Reed, to keep Jimmy on the straight and narrow!

Had no idea why, but this cat turned me on to the low, down, dirty blues...today, I know it was because it was so simple and pure...love his music today as much as I did when I first heard him in the 1960's.
