After shooting a feature film with the Red One camera, I had to learn how to maneuver with the camera in the lightest form possible. This video illustrates the quickest way to get the shots you want with the Red One.

  • What's the hype with RED camera? They seem to have a mystique aura about them. Does it have higher resolution than the standard 1080p? I know these questions are pretty rudimentary and can be answered from Wikipedia but I'm on Youtube and vis a vis it's much more succinct and expedient.

  • @supercooled It's 4 times the resolution of HD!! It shoots native 4k files, IMAX film is the only thing that is higher rez...for now until the RED EPIC comes :)

  • @EdwardMendoza when you say native 4k files what does that mean exactly?

  • @Mstrat86 I mean that they are not anamorphic stretch, it's actually 4096×3072 pixels. Cool, huh?

  • @Shortfilmtests If you don't need to shoot for more than a week then yes, renting for that amount is optimal. We had to shoot an entire feature so it made more sense owning :)

  • @EdwardMendoza Is the camera you are shooting on in the video rented or bought. I am thinking about renting one for a day for £350. Do you think that's a good deal?

  • @Mstrat86 ok - whats an anamorphic stretch hahaha

  • @LTOWN1993 You can get prices from 1000 a day and up.

  • @LTOWN1993 up to 600 or more an hour

  • @BrennanKnows Its never about the equipment its always about the story, you dont need the best equipment to make a great movie. If you use that excuse of not having the best equipment then you will get nothing done! Just get out there and start making it. Use you initiative!
