Kate Havnevik - New Day (Live/Acoustic at Mo Pitkin's)

This is Kate Havneivk performing her song "New Day" off her debut album Melankton at Mo Pitkin's House of Satisfaction in New York City (before the venue closed down in October 2007).

For this set, Kate stripped her songs down to the bare minimum. This performance of "New Day" features Kate singing and playing just the piano, without the usual electronics. It's an AMAZING VERSION, in my opinion! (Sorry I cut off the beginning, I realized what song she was doing and had to record it.)

actually, there was no orchestral beginning or even much of an intro to the song since it was all piano--which is also why i missed the first bit of the song. :-\ but also, sometimes kate sorta skips a lot of the intro when she does it live.. :)

Kate and her crew were on my left, and i dunno who was on my right (i'm seeing this from my POV of staring at the stage from the middle)... :)
