Michael Ryan was a gun enthusiast and it was not illegal to own such guns in the UK in1987. If I remember correctly, the events in Hungerford led to the introduction of tighter controls.

Sandra Hill was a good friend. Shortly before, a mix-up in our diabetic group left us alone in the wrong pub! As no one else came we just chatted all evening. I remember her telling me of her planned visit & how she liked Hungerford. She also suggested that I should go myself one day. Sadly it wasn’t until this year that I felt able & that was difficult. I thought watching the video would be a mistake but now at last I have somewhere to pay my respects as I don’t know what happened to her ashes.

@thomascrowne612 Perhaps you didnt listen to the begining of the Documentary but firearms WERE LEGAL in the UK at the time of incident - this is the reason why semi-automatic weapons were banned in the UK. All of Ryans weapons were legally owned hence why they were banned.

The youngest victim was my friends Mum, i still live in Hungerford.
