Southern Accent Help?

We need help learning how to talk in a southern accent. If anyone could help that'd be great. we are moving to florida so anything specific to that area would help. we dont want to sound like we are faking it either.

I do one better. Stay in the North and you won't have to come down here any year. There are too many people down here already. Good job opening yourself to cultural ridicule, though. *thumbs up* Too many Northerners here already who think they are better than us whether they mean to act that way or not. I am a well educated southerner and you bet I'll be defending the niceties of my culture from dumb perversions by charmed or arrogant outsiders.

I'm glad you automatically assume we act like every other southerners, we are trying to learn, not ridicule. America is a free country and i will go where ever i damn well please. You both have what people in the South call a "Mid Western Accent". Im from Florida and I can tell you like most parts of the South only certain area's of Florida have people that sound like they're Southern. Accents vary even County to County. Here in NC the people in my county sound Southern, but when you go further west in NC people sound Cajun.

@TheBestFwends Also, I am friends with many northerners. I discriminate on who I am friends based on content of character. Nothing more factors in on it. I also see more people from out west & up north migrating to the south to find various freedoms. Then I notice that their pursuit of more freedom lessens my freedoms. More people in an area, the less freedom you have. My thoughts, not feelings, on this matter are well thought out and multi-layered. I speak from experience & education.

You are proving my point in your response if anything. You two are southerners? Confused seems more like it. No learning required: speak how you speak & we'll do the same. I am aware of what America is, thanks. You know the saying "It's nice to visit, but I don't want to live there"? Northerners visit & stay in large amounts.
