you should listen to lupe fiasco. I think he has the "imagination" and "meaning" in his songs your looking for. alot of hip-hop (on the radio) these days is close to pop music or gangsta. girls dance to the pop music and guys wanna listen to something they can feel hard while they blast it driving around. its the business. you have to find your niche in the music business. its a different kinda of talent making "meaningful" music and "popular" music. apples and oranges.

Guns, violence, murder, rapes, stealing, was here before rap. Anything can be impressed upon an unsupervised child, that's why its important to teach children right from wrong. If you have ever seen the show where they interview inmates, most of them say, "my mom or dad was never really around" So dont blame rap for disruptive kids...blame their parents.

Lets not talk about hard rock and all the cases that were inspired by those Marylin Manson songs. Columbine, Luke woodum need I say more? All Im saying is...dont ONLY blame rap or any form of entertainment or art that you don't like for societal problems. This world has never been a nice place and it never will.
