One of the founders of the controversial Pirate Bay website is launching a venture to help web users make cash.
Peter Sunde has created Flattr a micropayments system, which works by members paying a fixed monthly fee. The cash is then divided among participating sites that a Flattr member wants to reward.
This could include a band that's made a track they like, the author of a favourite story or a site that gives useful advice for example.
Peter Sunde along with three others was found guilty last year of aiding copyright theft with The Pirate Bay, which helped users download copyright for free.
Now he's hoping that his latest scheme will help the web pay instead.
Will they report again when Flattr goes live?
