@demammoet I wish I could afford to go over there and get copies of this stuff!
-
@sitithesecond Thanks for clearing that up - I've actually never looked that particular word up in my Dutch / English dictionary. I've listened to the countless times my born & raised Dutch father said "These wooden shoes, or Klompen, are not normally worn by dancers, they are worn in the fields to keep feet warm and dry", "but we like dancing on them". I guess I took for granted that the translation he was using was subjective & not literal. I hope we've been able to help our teacher friend.

This has nothing to do with the Netherlands, for me as a Dutchmen it sounds like a song from the American countryside. Which, well, it is.
-
Volgens mij hebben die amerikanen een heel verkeerd beeld van ons.. Ik lach me verot hier. :")
-
Goodthing there's a little Dutch culture in America never knew that. Cheers!!

@betsukoy This may be a bit late to help you, but I can give you the text of some simple songs in Dutch.
-
@valinapolka "klompen" zijn "clogs" in het Engels. Niet "wooden shoes".
-
@palm1dhk definitely not the same level as Xalkiadakis and Manolioudis ... you have such fabulous music in Crete!
