  • I meant to ask: what is the cub muching on there? Is that a pile of waste (poop) or is it real food? I hope it's the latter! Thanks, again! Sometimes bears find big chunks of undigested food in their poop and re-eat it!

  • I've seen this before; it's a kibble that they feed to young carnivores to fatten them up because the kibble has loads of carbs and fats to keep them healthy; it's a kind of treat for them. The other things look like cabbage and lettuce.

  • I'm not sure; I think maybe they rolled in mud or their poop or something for their coats to look like that. And yes, the mother does look a bit underweight; hopefully the zookeepers will fatten them up and rinse them off. LOL. :-} ;-}

  • Hudson!

  • Thanks for your answer! I'm glad that it wasn't what I initially thought! Kibble is alot more pleasant than what I thought it was!I just hope that all of us polar bear lovers help to bring pressure on the gov't to prevent drilling in the ANWAR and other Arctic polar bear ranges. We cannot destroy their habitat when we can find alternative fuels so readily available.

  • Thank you for answereing MyaBacardiJaguar. It could be they rolled in their "poop". Sometimes bears do poop alot of it's a season to kind of fatten up and they've been eating alot. I just hope the zookeepers clean up the area though and don't leave the poop there for days on end. In a natural settings, wind and rains wash it away faster as it sinks into the soil or ice. Some zoos are not very clean and the animals are neglected to roll around in their waste.This is unforgiveable!

  • So cute! The Mother Bear's coat doesn't look very good though. Is it the season or is it because she's malnourished? Their coloration seems to have dark patches. Is this normal? I think the little cubbie made a "poopie"-so sweet! At least HE must be eating well!
