Tim Russert died Friday afternoon of a heart attack while in the newsroom at NBC headquarters in Washington, DC. He died doing the thing he loved the most- readying himself for another edition of Sunday morning's Meet the Press.

Keith Olbermann shares his insight on the newsman and the man, Tim Russert.

  • Brokaw and Olbermann were nothing short of fantastic.

  • I heard Olbermann read McCain's, Lieberman's and Bush's, you people are border line retarded.

    RIP Tim.

  • david gregory seems to be too biased to the right. if i am watching a news show i want the news, not the newsreader's opinion. if i am watching a pundit show, that is different. i don't watch fox, i tend to watch cnn and msnbc, i figure b/n the two of them, i'll get the news. i do watch olbermann and rachel maddow. but when i watch them, i know i'm not watching the news, and therefore expect to get there opinion.

  • How true, I hope David Gregory will be just as good and as well prepared for the show now that he is taking the position.

  • he went after everyone fairly. he didn't choose sides. however, if you went on meet the press, you had better be prepared. if you tried to lie, he was going to get you.

  • not like o'reilly and hannity right?

  • that is such bull and you know it.

  • Absolutely agreed.

  • I don't think the emotions of everyday people to Tim Russert's death were fake. Even if you did not like him you must agree that he was always prepared with his facts and you always learned something from Meet The Press,

his death was a shock and based on the out pouring from politicians and us common folk, he will be truely missed.

  • I don't like Keith Olberman, but I believe he was sincere in his emotions of the day. Some r affceted differently by death, shock & trauma. I do not agree w/ his politics but then, he is NOT a newsman. He is a commentator of the news... he expresses HIS OPINIONS like O'Reily, Limbaugh, Hanity and Colmes. He dosen't stand a chance in Hell of getting the MTP job & he knowes it. U at least have 2 APPEAR INBIASED & that wasn't easy even for Russert. Olberman, MTP... not a chance. RIP Tim R.
