Amazing. I played this at Killington Music Festival this past summer, but we weren't NEARLY like this. Best interpretation I have ever heard.

I have sometimes wondered why these geniuses of music, Mendelssohn, chopin, Gershwin, Schubert, Ariaga,Mozart have often died while they were young? Is there a relation between genius and fraility?

My favorite composition by Mendelssohn!  A true masterpiece, written when he was only 16 yrs old! 5 stars!!!

Excellent job! Having played this I have to say bravo, that was a very fast tempo. I also would like to suggest two things, the first being that the second cellist could play the first four (or is it five?) measures a bit more cleanly. the second being that the first violin could come down a bit after the solo to let the second cello and viola's eighth notes come through.
