The song: Pinky's life begins shortly after his father loses his life in war from a plane crash.

The video begins with a bus emerging from the Lincoln Tunnel into Midtown Manhattan on the early-November day of this show, followed by select footage of that area: Times Square and the New York Times HQ. Evening arrives at the Penn Station, and fans slowly enter the venue, Madison Square Garden. Once inside, Roger Waters' meticulously selected pre-show music greets his fans. One such piece, John Lennon's "Imagine," renews that former New Yorker's dream of a better world, an idealism that would be more than evident in the show that is about to start.

The show then begins with the by now famous "homeless man" pushing a shopping buggy containing a protest placard. The man makes his first round shaking hands with fans. Minutes later, he nears the stage, where claims of being Spartacus are heard. The man finally throws onto the stage an effigy reputed to be that of the hollow-shell body of a former Pinky that has now finally broken out of his self-imposed alienation setting the stage for the commencement of the flashback musical story of "The Wall" to be told, again, to the tens of thousands who have arrived for another evening of warmth and sharing ....
