Reel to Real is from the Simple Minds album Reel to Real Cacophony. Great song, awesome album! We don't here a lot from these guys in America besides "that song from the John Hughes movie". But they made several incredible albums of moody, Synth Pop that was way better than most new wave one hit wonder bands. This song sounds like it could of been made today. I made this video because I didn't see this song posted. Hope you enjoy, thanks

  • I don't know especially music and notes but humming this along. it reminded me of "radioactivity" from Kraftwerk....especially the chorus....I think that this is their "umma gumma" I prefer sons and fascination from that period....

  • @greenblackification

Awesome! that is pretty rare! If it is the original zoom/arista!

  • @MrDemilord well said, still have my orig 'real to real' bought in record shop in putney high street in 79

  • I first saw this band on 14/12/79 at the Marquee in london, they saved my life.............in the sense that they were my immediate replacement for Ultravox! ( john foxx version) who had just split and left me devastated................

  • @featofgofs1 They even used the wrong colour shade and always has been , even the remasters.. They from what i heard finally corrected all these problems at virgin with the coming x5 boxset

  • It is Real to Real not Reel to Real or Reel to Reel or even real to reel

    It is one last time

    Real to Real

  • This is fantastic! I have been a fan of SM since early 80's and they are still together and will be touring in the states this year. Thankyou

  • @MrDemilord. I thought the same about the album title but i have seen copies with the title as Reel To Real....maybe this is how it was released in the states? i don't know but there do exist such copies.

  • Amazing song. 1979-1981, the best period for Simple Minds.
