1. MJB Coffee (good enough to serve anyone)
2. Mazola Margarine (Do-Ray-Me-Ma-Zo-La!)
3. Coca Cola (my favorite in this collection...I just want to reach for that sweating, frosty cold bottle of Coke!)
4. Sugar Cane 99 (The first diet sugar)
5. Tetley Tea (makes a faster tea bag)
6. Mapley flavored Karo syrup (they still make this and it still tastes different than the rest)
7. Niagara Instant Laundry Starch (before the spray type)
8. Mazola Corn Oil and Gold Medal flour )with Chef Theodore Hutton and his Golden Batter recipe)
9. Kix Corn Cereal (eat them with a new invention--the rake!)
10. Superseal food savers with Art Linkletter

**These commercials are from my Supermarket Commercials collection. This collection is brought to you by Video Resources. They range from the early 1950s to the early 1970s**

  • What was MJB coffee? That's probably saccarine that Sugarcane 99.

  • I've never seen ANY of these! Were these ads more regional? Maybe they did'nt make much of an impression on me, but they are pretty entertaining!

  • 2:30 0.o creepiest thing I've ever heard

  • ...here's an interesting tie-in between Mazola Corn Oil and General Mills' Gold Medal Flour, circa 1959; very amusing live-action General Mills Kix ad, 1960 (that was the year they adapted the "Big G" as their trademark, with the boxtop logo on their cereals); Art Linkletter, who recently passed away at the age of 97, was always involved in one product endorsement or another during his long career as an emcee and "personality"- this is a 1972 ad (marketed by a company Art owned a piece of).

  • The MJB Coffee ad is from 1965; Mazola Margarine (another fine product of Best Foods) also from '65; the Coke ad, 1966; "Sugarcane 99", a Beech-Nut product (which wasn't on grocers' shelves too long), 1969; the animated Tetley ad, same period; Karo Imitation (!) Maple Syrup (a Corn Products {then, the parent company of Best Foods} brand, now marketed by ACH Food Companies), 1959; Niagara Starch (also from Best Foods, now from Phoenix Brands), with Allen Swift as the "forgetful father", 1959....
