  • The patient was also evaluated by a neurologist who agreed with the diagnosis. The patient was not a mental patient. He probably was drinking and didn't remember what happened. Also, "Professional" is spelled with one "f".

  • why doesn' recover after long compression...blood supply doesn't come back or nerve gets damaged by compression?...radial nerve doesn't look easy to compress ...less than ulnar

    or just the opposite

curios to see some mri or xrays of that patient

  • @Encephalitisify Yes you do. This is also called "Saturday night palsy" due to people falling asleep on their arm after drinking and compressing the radial nerve. You can get it from injury, specifically with humerus fractures, but it's common to get if from sleeping on it funny just as the patient described.

  • This stuff sucks!

  • i had the same thing took 2 months to get my right hand moving again.

  • This is a health proffessional making fun of a mental patient. Nothing is wrong with his hand. You don't just get an "onset" of nerve palsy without injury.

  • "3-4 WEEKS!!!"?? I'm hoping to see an entry somewhere of "from within days to...."

    OMFG.... cancel the wedding..

Life IS mt right hand! OMFG!

  • Thanks for this... suffering through High Yield Gross Anatomy and the black and white text can lull you into a deep coma. It was nice to see the clinical presentation of radial nerve palsy. What was the eventual diagnosis?

  • Hi everybody

I suffered from radial nerve palsy due to getting too sleepy at night on my right arm so I couldn't move the (sorry) fucking wrist. It was COMPLETLY paralysed and I was suffering a nightmare. Fortunately, I was FULLY (100%) recovered in about 2 months time, and I had good movement in just 3-4 weeks.

I want to share my experience with everybody who's suffering from the same condition and I'd like to give you ALL my support.

Best wishes and get well soon.

    Danny, 26 yo, Madrid (Spain)

  • His triceps maybe paralysed too because he keep his arm in flexion
