It's been a tradition every year that the last workshop of the Flava Invasion weekend the instructors group up together to teach a cha cha class. The rules:

1) Everyone teaches one cha cha bar of 8
2) You CANNOT touch the next 1 :)

As you can imagine, the class very quickly turns into an advanced class (although this year Joel spiced it up and got it started off advanced lol). The goal of the students: Keep up and have fun doing it!

So...who made it through? This is the demonstration of the girls and the full group. I missed the guys unfortunately so good thing they come back in :)

Footwork Contributions in Order:

Bar #1: Joel Masacote
Bar #2: Burju Hurturk
Bar #3: Sekou McMiller
Bar #4: Magna Gopal
Bar #5: Victor Perez
Bar #6: Joby Brava
Bar #7: Tito Ortos
Bar #8: Ana Masacote
Bar #9: Leon Rose
Bar #10: Maysanne Assaf
Bar #11: Juan Matos
Bar #12: Julissa Cruz

  • @sofimove She looks like Magna, I thought the same :p Both beautiful dansers!

  • @2003lentudio Thanks so much!

  • Yes that is my wicked girl, Ana Masacote....DO YOUR THING WOMAN...love those damn legs...they go for AGES! Your isolation is ridiculous.

  • I definitely prefer the cha cha technique of international ballroom dancing.

  • Actually, it's Poncho Sanchez from his Latin Soul / Live CD. I recognize the hey-hey-hey-hey and hey-alright parts... Such a cool cha-cha...

  • What I love about these types of workshops is you can see each instructors individual styling. For instance Ana's sexy and sensual lady styling and body movement, Julissa and Buru's hip hop/crunk almost tomboyish movement. I just loved it.

  • Siiiick. Also, I love how you can see each instructor's style of dance pretty clearly in their own bar of 8 and yet it somehow fits?

  • Hey RobertSilver75!

I'm familiar with the Masacote Quality ;)

What I meant was that all the different teachers, Burju, Maysanne, Sekou etc etc.. ; all the teachers who made this choreaography possible; make some huge show choreography and perform it together. I'm certain it would be a massive succes cause they all got the talent and i believe also the nice personalities to go with it ;) I hope I'm a bit clearer this time.. have a nice day ! :)
