Anything, truly, is possible. Especially when done one frame at a time.

A few words from teaching artist and local animator Tess Martin...

"Inspired by Kentridge's animated works, The Henry Art Gallery hosted an animation workshop introducing students to 'modified base' techniques. We played with animating sand-like materials (sesame seeds and barley), charcoal (and pastels) and paint. The participants were mostly adults with some art experience in other fields (drawing, video) or students with some experience in digital animation. Everyone jumped right in! It was a great way to show how one can animate just about everything!"
