-See? You are playing your game right now. Be real with me, Brianna. I dare you.-

Funny joke. Me? Be real? I couldnt, my whole image would be ruined. The whole school doesnt need to know that my life is slowly falling apart.

-I need to get home. Where is my phone? And please put on a shirt.- I say.

-Why?- he asks as he stands up, tossing me my cell phone.

-Well I need my phone to call a cab to get home. And well um- I stammer

-Youve never seen a guy without a shirt on?- he questions sarcastically.

Not a guy that looks like you and gives my butterflies the way you do. But that not what I say. I fake it. I play my game. I guess he is right.

-Ha funny. Trust me, you dont have anything I havent seen before.-

-Wanna bet?- he says as his hands go to his jeans as if he is going to show me what below them but thankfully Demi walks in and saves me.

-Whoa Nick, please keep your pants on.- she says and shoots my a suspicious look.

-Hey dont look at me. I was just trying to call a cab.- I defend.

-Forget the cab. Ill drive you home- Demi offers.

-No Ill drive her.- Nick cuts in, grabbing his keys.

Demi looks sick of putting up with us so she says, -Who do you want to drive you, me or him?-

Ok, I have a boyfriend, Nick shouldnt drive me. But I must admit that every time I see him looking at me a shock ripples through my body. But thats normal right? I mean you are just to people with obvious sexual tension between us. As long as we dont act on it, well be fine. Because if I did act on it I would lose Jesse, my friends, my mom, and whatever control I had left of my life.

-Demi will you take me home please.- I finally decide then glance over at Nick. He looks at me for a second, shakes his head, then grabs his shirt and storms out the door without another word.

I follow Demi to her car, -You and Nick are more then friends arent you?- I ask.

-More like brothers and sister. I was there for him whenwell lets just say weve been through a lot together.- she answers

-Care to elaborate?-

-Our friendship just started, dont push it.- She says.

I nod and once we reach my house I say, -Thanks for the ride. And dont worry, I wont let anything happen with me and Nick.- Even if there is something going on below the surface.

-Good, cuz he as been through a lot of shit. He doesnt need anything more complicated in his life.- she says.

Ok not the response I really wanted but I leave the care anyway and walk up to the house. My parents are leaning over the kitchen table and look up at me when I walk in as if theyve been caught doing something wrong.

-We thought you were still at Aprils.- my mom stammers.

-Whats going on? Youre looking at places to send Mandy arent you?- I question. When they dont answer I know its true. I run up to my run and slam the door, ignoring the pleas to talk about it civilly.

Once in my room, I see something sticking out of my pocket. Its Nicks bandanna. Demi, a non friend helped me yesterday, and Nick, a boy who cared more about me then my own boyfriend did last night, is telling me to be real. Do I even know how to be real? I clutch the bandanna to my chest an allow myself to cry.
