All have sinned and greatly offended the holy God of the bible. The just punishment is death then hell. That's not Gods will. He suffered and died on the cross paying for the law you broke in His life's blood so He could legally dismiss your case. You must repent turn from sin and trust alone in Jesus Christ for your salvation.
I vote for neither. Jesus appeared physical, but he was not physical like we are. Neither was he a ghost. I have actaully heard stories of people that have touched Jesus. I also feel the last judgement/resurrection of the dead is a metaphor- it could be real but it may be like "Adam and Eve". Howard Storm was told by Jesus he would return to teach people, "when the world is ready". He saw a vision of a future earth paradise, but people died in that world the same as this one
might I suggest you read The Resurrection of the Son of God by N.T. Wright?
and I would suggest you read the rest of N.T. Wright's Christian origins and the Question of God. The purpose of the resurrection, and the rest of Jesus' ministry in its entirety, was the ushering in the Kingdom of God, the climax of Israel's history. It was not to tell the disciples that Jesus was merely "okay", or give "timeless truths" as Bultmann said.

I think the Gospels take precedence over the other books of the NT. I completely disregard revelations, myself.
