MACK MASTER PLAYS JAMES BROWN - IT'S A MAN'S, MAN'S, MAN'S WORLD

Here's yours truly playing a cover of the James Brown classic "It's A Man's, Man's, Man's World" on my electric guitar. The words and music were written by James Brown and Betty Jean Newsome. The song was released as a single for King Records and reached number eight on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts and spends two weeks at number one on the U.S. Billboard R&B Singles charts in 1966. The song has been covered by many recording artists including Lucio Dalla, Big Maybelle, Ray Charles, MC5, Tom Jones, The Fabulous Counts, Renee Geyer, Grand Funk Railroad, Brilliant, Cold Sweat, Bobby Byrd and Vicki Anderson, Concrete Blonde, Van Morrison, Patricia Kaas, Reptile Palace Theatre, Mercury Rev, Cher, Celine Dion, Sebouba Bambino, Natacha Atlas, Joss Stone, The Residents, Countdown Singers, Miss Dominique, Etta James, Seal, Gov't Mule, The Grateful Dead and Leela James and it ranked #123 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in 2004. Christina Aguilera performed a critically acclaimed rendition of the song as a posthumous tribute to James Brown at the 2007 Grammy Awards. Her performance has been voted as the 3rd Most Memorable Grammy Performance of all time. The cast of Glee, featuring Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron) covered the song during season one's twenty-first episode, entitled "Funk", and released it as a single. Quinn was trying to represent the suppressed feeling women feel from men.
