Talkin' Expos Baseball by Terry Cashman. One of many songs he recorded for MLB teams. Ripped from LP, sound quality not the best.

  • What album/LP was this, again?

  • @tthomaselli2 It was a single.

  • @llehman84

So, what do I put as the album/record name & year on Windows Media player?

  • @tthomaselli2 Year was 1982, Album was "Talkin' Baseball for Expos Fans". This was side one & the name was Talkin' Baseball (Expos All the Way). Had to dig up my original 45 to check all that.

  • @MrEnderdragon I'm with you, but only partially. I agree regarding '94, which would have brought fans in during the '95 and '96 seasons, but the afterglow from a pennant only lasts so long. Granted, the Expos never had the kind of money it takes to win it all in the modern age, but they DID have the best farm system in baseball and were able to field a competitive team made up of VERY exciting young players year in and year out...yet they played in an empty ballpark most nights.

  • @TiocfaidhArLa

an afterthought caused by Selig's mismanagement of the team when the MLB had control of it. The strike also did a good deal of damage to the Expos - They would've won the series had the season been saved. No doubt.

  • @obiwanobiwan13 I'd love to see it, but I don't know if Montreal will support a baseball team. The Expos were my fave NL team (Tigers diehard here), and I saw many a game at the Big O. The problem was that most times, I could actually count the other fans. Anglophones got behind the Expos in a half-hearted manner, and Francophones hardly at all. Montreal is a hockey town...baseball is an afterthought.

  • If MLB ever expands to 32--32 teams is about the perfect number, size and division-wise for the Big 4 sports leagues, I think--anyone else agree the Expos should come back?

I'd vote for the Expos, and then New Orleans, Portland/Vancouver, or maybe a Latin American destination, like San Juan or Mexico City...

I'm a Mets fan, and as happy as I am to see baseball back in D.C--we have to have The National Pastime in the Nation's Capital, after all!--the Expos and Montreal deserve to live again! :)

  • Now it should be Talkin' Nationals Baseball. Zimmerman, Strasburg, and Harper, Zimmermann, Pudge, and Werth, Ankiel, LaRoche, and Lannan,

  • @1011176a

It's all due to Mr. Selig. The Expos were great, the strike killed them due to Selig's idiotic moves.

  • @llehman84

    Thanks.: :)

  • Its sad how the Expos came so close to winning in the fall, and moved out of Canada without a trophy.

  • Thanks Lehman ! I've searched for this on youtube many times & finally someone posted it. Brings back alot of memories. The original was called ' Talkin Baseball ' with the chorus singing ' Willie, Mickey & the Duke ', released as a 45 single in 1981. Cashman ( a New Yorker) later recorded a version for every team. I followed the spos from 76 to the end & the sadness of losing not only my hometown team but my fave sport will always be there. Sad for those who will never know what it was like.
