If you hold it up in the air, push the throttle to maximum and let go, it should hover and fly just fine. It doesn't hover so much as fly randomly around the room and bounce off things, like peoples' heads if they don't duck and cover when it comes around. To get it to go in a certain direction, just give it the most gentle toss you can when you let it go. However, this toy is extremely sensative to wind, and will blow with it. It usually crashes if the wind is too strong. Best of luck!.
