To be honest, I'm this kid's age, heck maybe younger. But Contra? Fucking awesome. Then again, I was playing it since I was 3 or 4...

You see, this is what I'm talking about. My friends only play newer games and since I'm a retro gamer, they mock me about it constantly. When I asked why they don't like the older games, they said "Graphics suck and no difficulty." At which point, I invited everyone over to my house to play Battletoads see how hard they thought it was. I told them that whoever could beat it would get $20, and if no one beat it, I'd get $5 dollars from each of them. Now, I've got $30 and they don't mock me.

@DrChalkwithering Nah I think you just were never good at them and grew bitter. Today's consumer-grooming industry practices must be a blessing for you, but it's bad for the challenge of real hard games, good games...not tech demos...
PS In the 19th century, there were lots of conditions we have today that didn't even exist...like morbid obesity for ex., ADD etc. Modern = shittier and shittier, with some rare exception...
