The birth of our 3rd baby, this time trying for a more natural and gentle birth on the floor without pushing - she just came painlessly on her own!

Thank you Louise at Active Birth Yoga for teaching me what our bodies can do and my Dr and midwife Noelene for letting me try things differently this time.

Great job birth team Robbie and Jackie! It wouldn't have been so easy without your support.

  • You made it look easy (even though I know it wasn't). Go New Mommie! Did you deliver all your children in this manner, or just this last child. What differences did you notice in the level of pain and the ease of birthing? I'm soon to deliver (in a week) and what you did looks like it was easy on your body as well as the baby. I notice the baby immediately cried without suctioning. Sincere questions.

  • @shamondydunbar Thanks :) No, all different - I wish I knew what I do now back at #1! The 1st baby I was told I had to be on the bed the entire labour being monitored (I was induced with all 3), so I had 12 hours of labour, 3 hours pushing!! The second I sat on a fit ball to allow gravity to work but was told I had to birth on the bed, so still had to push. This one I was determined to be upright and on hands and knees didn't need to push at all, just waited thru contractions! Goodluck!

  • beautiful, but that baby needs suctioned.

  • @fallinguphill7 she didnt need to be suctioned, she didn't have any assistance and once the cord was cut was breathing fine

  • Wonderful

  • @lenababe3 thats great!! What I would suggest after my third and how well it went was move around a lot, go down on all fours for the birth if you feel like it, and just know that the pain wont last forever no matter how bad it gets! Just focus on breathing as a distraction - the gas is good for that because you have to concentrate on not breathing too much gas in, and you can bite the mouth piece :)

In fact, the only part of my that was sore the next day was my jaw from biting! Good luck!

  • @Suzanne20198 It was a male OBS and a female midwife. I don't think it makes any difference whether they are male or female, I'm more concerned about quality of care.

  • @andrew09211 No... I did not throw my freedom away. Noah is my life. I would not have it any other way. I was on the pill and wasn't told antibiotics messed with it. So don't try and make it seem as if it was a bad descision. I Love my beautiful, 5 month old son :) Would not change it for the world. I still get to go out every second weekend when he is at his dads, i have fun with my other young mum friends. I have more of a social life now, then i ever did before my pregnancy! TYVM

  • I agree on the last comment that men shouldn't touch girly parts but congrats ur little girl is a princess and u didn't look like you were in pain but u probably were!😄 she's as cute as a 🐶
