  • she is utterly wrong. she is talking about t.a. its IMPOSSIBLE to feel your pelvic floor unless you do internal examination. It has been found that TA co-contracts with pelvic floor and so a TA contraction COULD be an indicator of pelvic floor function, but she was stating that what she was feeling was pelvic floor. incorrect.

  • When she describes "closing the ribcage" she is doing a pelvic tilt- not a kegel/pelvic floor exercise. The pelvic tilt is a good core exercise for strengthening your back; but she conflates the two and it's confusing.

    (I'm a NASM certified personal trainer, and also hold a pre/post-natal certificate)

  • Your pc muscles don't have to be engaged to do that move. In fact some might even have a hard time using the pc muscle at the same time.

  • dig in here? lol... why not just explain its the muscle you would use if you stopped peeing mid flow.
